You get delivery, set-up and origination included in the advertised price, a logo redraw that is usually free and a proof before production, across a range of over 200,000 products.
Funky Concepts describes itself as an independent promotional merchandise distributor and marketing agency based in the West Midlands. It says it has been providing creative promotional product solutions since 2003 and offers over 200,000 individual products. The company is based in Wollaston, Stourbridge.
Its clients, it says, range from blue-chip companies and small local businesses to public sector organisations, local and national charities, marketing agencies, sports clubs and small societies. The company says it works with purchasing teams from sourcing and samples through design and manufacture to distribution and invoicing, and will guide first-time buyers through the process.
Products and brands
Its website groups the range into bags, clothing and apparel, conference and exhibition, desk accessories, eco products, health and wellbeing, lifestyle and home, mugs and bottles, pens and pencils, sweets and confectionery, tools, travel and leisure, and power banks and USB gadgets. Its home page highlights these popular items:
- Contour Colour Ballpen with full colour print
- Standard and Mini Ad-Loop
- Pencil Case Set
- Branded Logo Standard Bug, a fluffy logo bug with a printed ribbon tail
- Latex balloons in 10 and 12 inch sizes
- Dartford A4 Conference Folder
These lines overlap several of our hubs, including branded pens, mugs and drinkware, bags, conference merchandise and delegate packs, eco and sustainable merchandise, coasters and beer mats and mouse mats.
Branding and artwork
The company lists screen printing, pad printing, engraving, blocking, embroidery, die stamping, vinyl transfer and digital printing, and says the right method depends on the product, the number of colours and the expected life of the item. Its studio is PC based and prefers Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, hi-res PDF, EPS, JPEG or TIFF files. It says it can redraw a logo, usually free of charge, but cannot accept artwork created in Microsoft Word. A proof and approval form are sent before production. For help choosing, see our guide to decoration methods and our advice on briefing a merchandise supplier.
Ordering, pricing and delivery
Funky Concepts says there are no delivery costs and no set-up or origination charges, with everything included in the advertised price excluding VAT. To quote, it asks for the quantity, the number of colours, the number of branding positions and the delivery date. It says it will try to match or beat a like-for-like quote from another supplier.
Standard next working day delivery to UK mainland addresses, including Northern Ireland, is included in advertised prices, while faster or international options are quoted separately. Quotes carry an estimated lead time, and a selection of products is available in 3-5 days. Stock ships from warehouses in the UK, Europe and the Far East, so a multi-product order may arrive on different days, and deliveries carry a 10% product variance either way. Minimum order quantities are not published.
