Fast Pens

Fast Pens is an online supplier of printed and engraved pens, pencils and notebooks based in Spilsby, Lincolnshire. Customers can create designs in its online designer or upload completed artwork. Its website describes customers in hospitality, retail, professional services, public bodies, airlines, finance and travel.

The company states that it has more than 120 employees and over 40 years of printing experience. It accepts orders without a minimum quantity, including a single pen, and offers delivery across the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

Products and personalisation

The branded pens range includes plastic ballpens with coloured grips, clips or barrels, alongside stylus pens. Its metal pens include aluminium models with anodised finishes or soft-touch coatings. The Parker Jotter has a recycled plastic barrel and recycled stainless-steel cap and comes with a Parker gift box.

Other writing and desk products include wooden and mechanical pencils, five-colour hand-shaped highlighters and 30cm plastic rulers in clear or white. The notebook range includes soft-feel notebooks, a notebook with a matching metal ballpen, kraft notebooks with recycled paper and cork-covered options.

Its bamboo and recycled-material pens include bamboo ballpens, recycled-paper ballpens with plastic trim, and a model made from recycled aluminium cans and recycled plastic water bottles. These are material descriptions attached to particular products on its website.

Printing and engraving

Digital printing uses coloured inks and can reproduce small text and gradients. Laser engraving on metal pens produces a single-colour mark, described as white on most pens and light grey on some colours. Listed pen prices include decoration on one side; double-sided printing or engraving is available on most pens by quotation.

For the PCE100 natural wooden pencil, Fast Pens lists a 130 x 4mm digital print area and includes sharpening. The RUL100 ruler has a 300 x 19mm digital print area. Individual names or numbers can be printed on either product by quotation.

Ordering and delivery

The homepage advertises three working day despatch and free FedEx delivery on UK orders, with faster despatch options. Delivery dates are estimates rather than guarantees. Sample packs can be ordered. There are no standard setup or design fees, although the FAQ describes a chargeable artwork service for unusable designs or requested changes.
